This is the second time I have done the workshop but with different light and conditions it was more than different enough to keep up my interest. In fact, for the second time, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.I just want to have some fun - I thought that you created a group dynamic that allowed me to do that so I thank you for that.
It was good becasue we can always ask if more is required, being there are two professionals to call on
It's a great opportunity to actually spend some time with your camera. So often I've wanted to properly learn what every single thing does on my digital SLR but I don't have a lot of time to spend and info goes in a lot easier if I am taught it by someone else and shown practically how to use it. It was nice to spend time with other people who were both more and less experienced than me. It was a really friendly atmosphere and the relationship/banter between Ian and Barry helped to lighten the mood and ensure everyone enjoyed themselves.
Overall good experience, good to go over the basics. Location was spoilt by the weather, which you can't control!
Because it was the second time I'd come to Mottisfont, the ground and format were familiar and opportunities to take good shots, at my level of expertise, were limited by the poor light. I'd hoped that we might have a sunset to photograph, but no such luck. As I've said, the group is too large for too much individual advice and comment. However, any time that one spends while in expert company doing nothing but concentrating on trying to achieve good results and handling the camera over a couple of hours is bound to reinforce lessons part learnt from other resources such as magazines. Thank you both very much .
I like the fact that there are two professionals to draw from, both, with seemingly different styles of photography. There is always someone you can ask for clarification or extra information. Ian and Barry are very freindly and approachable chaps.
Friendly atmosphere, approachable tutors, interesting location.
I iknew most of the stuff about aperture exposure etc. but valued the advice on the composition of shots.
The workshop was an interesting and quite intensive evening, Can’t really say I learnt anything new but it certainly made me look at what I was doing and to try things I may not have otherwise done.
